Data Science is an emerging field of study that combines mathematics, statistics, and computer science to collect, analyze, visualize, and interpret data. The Faculty of Science Major program provides students with extensive study in their chosen field while allowing for educational breadth through other subjects of interest. The Major program offers flexibility and opportunities to select electives from other disciplines at the University of Manitoba. This flexibility means that the Major program doesn’t provide the same level of professional training as the Honours program. |

High school graduation, including 5 full credits at the Grade 12 level.
A minimum average of 80% over the following, with no less than 60% in each course: - English
- Applied Mathematics or Pre-Calculus Mathematics
- One of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, or Physics
- One academic senior-level course
